...new him, in reality very few people actually knew Willy. Willy only had one friend, Charlie, his next door neighbor. Willy never was a very attractive man though he constantly told his sons that he was many years ago. I think that Willy lies because he feels that he is not good enough the way he is. I believe this is one of the reasons he commited suicide. Another problem Willy has is he has flashbacks. He does this often, he has one in a restaurant bathroom, in his home and in his yard. When Willy had a flashback in the bathroom he embarrassed himself and his sons. One of the busboys went into the bathroom to get Willy. The bus boy told Willy that his son’s had left with two girls and would meet him at home. The other time that Willy had a flashback it revealed his memories of “the good times”. He was respected greatly by his sons, he could afford to by them gifts and he felt good about himself. The last flashback that Willy had he was speaking to his dead brother about Willy committing suicide. Willy used his flashbacks to show the readers the past and to show his inner most feelings.
