...ave catches on to what is happening and saves the reputation of both Bill Mitchell and the vice president. I think the message the film maker was trying to examine is simple: Any good man with a good heart, a good mind and the will to do good, can and will do good. Dave came into an administration filled with scandal and corrupt people and in some ways fixed it. He cut the budget $650 million and gave that to the homeless – something that the real Bill Mitchell probably wouldn’t do. Dave turns an administration completely around and gets it to focus what they really need to focus on – America and it’s people. Dave was the best thing to happen to that administration. I think the concept of power in the movie was fairly easy to notice as we were dealing with the most powerful man in the world. It has been said that presidents of the United States are, and will probably always be, the most power full men in the world. Dave, in this case, had the power to fire Bob, the power to cut the budget $650 million and still have the freedom to sneak out of the White House for “some ice-cream.” Dave had the power to call a news conference and schedule a joint-meeting of congress and he did this all at his beckin’-call. Now, that is power. Dave is a very good example how the government works and is in several ways. First, it shows how a no-body on the street can go and become the President of the United States. Dave works at it, learns a little about the government and who all runs it (kind of like our current president) and before he knows it, he is running the country on a day-to-day basics.
