Contrasting Beowulf and Macbeth
...em. In the end both of them let their pride be their ultimate down fall. In contrasting the two there are many differences. Starting out the two took different paths about the way they went on to become king. Beowulf went out and did many noble things helping other kingdoms and being true to the current king. Macbeth took a different path he started out being a noble thane and then turned into a treasonous tyrant. He killed his cousin the king and went on to kill any person who might pose a threat to him. Beowulf when he was king ruled his kingdom as a noble king would and his people respected him and they obeyed him because of their respect. Macbeth did the opposite he tried to keep his subjects loyal by making them fear him. Other than just ruling their kingdoms the two had very different personal lives. Beowulf on one hand had no wife or kids and spent his time running his kingdom to be a powerful and respected kingdom. Macbeth had a wife and no kids. He and his wife plotted out his evil plan to kill and take over the kingdom and ways of controlling. When he received his prophecy from the witches his wife was as excited if not more than he was about it. By the end he had become so cold and only worried about being the king that he didn’t even care about the death of his wife didn’t even faze him. In the end Beowulf was still a brave and strong warrior...
