Conspiracy Theory Revealed: Fake Apollo Moon Mission
...credible technical achievement of space exploration, it is actually believed to be the greatest fraud masterminded by NASA on mankind. One position to this issue are those who believe the Apollo mission to be a hoax. As shocking as it sounds, nearly 20 million people in the United States alone have doubted that NASA sent men to the moon, that is approximately 7 percent, according to a 1995 Timel CNN poll. These believers have voiced their assumptions to be true through evidential support found in the moon landing’s footage. Claims such as the absence of stars in the photos taken by the astronauts, the American flag’s rippling motion in an airless atmosphere, the awkward shadowing on the moon’s surface, and the bewilderment of the dust on the moon. Most of the evidence consists of “irregularities”, things that appear in the video or photos shot on the moon that the investigators feel should not be there. There are also some technical objections, like the idea that going to the moon was just too dangerous and difficult due to solar radiation for it to actually happen. Many of these questions are hard to explain, only further tightening their beliefs. They conclude with the idea that “Disbelievers connect dots that few others can see.” The opposing view is from the majority of people that believe that a lunar landing did successfully take place. When the Fox Television Network aired their 2001 documentary about NASA covering up a faked Moon landing, something touched a nerve in a majority of people. The television special was a one-sided argument, one that was disrespectful to the human population. A NASA spokesman, Bob Jacobs says that the entire debate is disrespectful to the hundreds of thousands who worked on that program. NASA officials and astronauts themselves explain the reasoning of the irregularities of the footage, and carefully resolve the hoax-believers misconceptions. Their argument revolves entirely around the issue that the lunar surface is much different than the earth’s surface; ‘The Moon is NOT the Earth’ has been their repeated conclusion. The reasoning behind the shadow differences is the lack of atmosphere on the moon, resulting in different light patterns than those present on Earth. The confusion of the dust is also explained with the belief that ‘moon dust’ is nothing like dust, sand, or dirt found on the Earth. To NASA, the only explanation of why there are so many non believers is best stated, “Once you believe that, you start seeing evidence that would be obvious to everybody around you if they paid attention the way you did,” observes Clark McCauley, a professor of psychology at Bryn Mawr in Pennsylvania. McCauley connects all of the non-believers opinions to those of an anti-government attitude...
