The text was about the Second World War a how devastating it really was and what it was like for the Germans. All Quiet On The Western Front was full of conflict. Himmelstoss was a corporal who taught soldiers techniques in the war. He was a mean man and worked the soldiers hard. At many stages conflict arouse between him and the soldiers. The soldiers had it very hard. There was a man that was a bed wetter and himmelstoss reckons it was pure laziness that he didn’t want to get up to go to the toilet. So himmelstoss got another man who also was a bed wetter to sit underneath man. They slept in bunks so the person at the bottom would get showered on.
