Another area of comparison is the safety, freedom, and independence of children in America. The safety of children is one example. In the 1960’s kids could walk anywhere and do almost anything without the possibility of anything happening to them. However, these days kids have to be careful where ever they go. Houses were also safer. In the 1960’s people didn’t have to lock their houses when they left. Nowadays people must lock their houses or their possessions may be stolen. Also, over the past several decades crime has increased, making our world more dangerous. These are all indications of a less safe world. A final major difference between now and the 1960’s is the kind of schoolwork students do. An example of a difference is the amount of group work.
