Climbing a mountain

...e were inseparable friends. We traveled, studied, we were almost always together. We were best friends. The reason why we had such a strong friendship is very simple: we trusted each other and we had a lot of fun when we were together. At about 11:30 AM, we were all packed, and we called the neighbors, Mari and her cousin Bianca, to go with us. The mountains were 3 miles away from the house, and we would have to cross a creek. We improvised a bridge, using a piece of wood we had found near it. The girls went first, then my friends, and then me. On my turn, the piece of wood sank into the creek, while I was standing on it. I got all soaked, but since it was a sunny day and I was wearing light clothes, it rapidly dried. Forty minutes later we were there, facing the mountains. It was a very high mountain, and we did not have any climbing experiences. On the sides of the mountain there were no trees, we were surrounded by sand. It took us 30 minutes to get to the top of the mountain. We were all very fascinated when we actually noticed where we were. We could see the whole town, all the farms, everything.
