...ry to me—yet Christina and her family cease to do these things. There are hidden morals and values in her and her family’s way of life. They have come to grasp with the fact they do not need extravagant things when the plain will do. They don’t need to go out at night when they can stay in and thank God and pray—or sing with their family. In a way, I believe they set high values. They are strong people—and stand out among many and have no problem with this. It is people like they who show countless numbers a better way of life—a simpler one. Christina’s story has shown me a lot. When I look at my life I realize I do not need as many things as I have, I do not need to go as many places as I do and I don’t need to want things that I do not need to want. I realize the story is not intended to make me feel a bit guilty for my way of life but I believe stories like these help one understand what they have been blessed with and that one should count the blessing bestowed upon them by taking time to seize simple pleasures.
