...n minutes. To get into the Radiology program a few mandatory prerequisites must be completed. These include: CGS 1060C- Introduction to Computer Science, PCB 3703C- Human Physiology, PHY 2053C- College Physics I, PHY 2054C- College Physics II, ZOO 3733C- Human Anatomy, and MAC 1105- College Algebra. Physics I is, “a fundamental class teaching principles of mechanics, heat and sound.” Physics II relates to electricity, magnets, optics and elements of today’s modern physics. Human Anatomy and Human Physiology refers to teachings on: “tissues, structure and function of integument, skeletal, muscular, endocrine, nervous systems and organs of special sense.” The minimum grade point average to be accepted into this program is a 2.5 and also the program is a limited access. Once I complete my required time at Valencia Community college I will transfer to The University of Central Florida. Keeping my grades as high as possible now will be very beneficial in transferring schools. I must also complete all courses necessary to enter the Radiology program including prerequisite classes. After two years at Valencia and two years at University of Central Florida my total educational expenses will be around 10,034 dollars. This is does not include living in an apartment. Financial aid can help pay for a large amount of these costs. Yet financial aid is only granted to those who apply and are in need. This is decided by a committee that looks at income tax returns and an annual earnings of you and your parents. Students must complete and send in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. I do receive financial aid yet my parents also help a little with my college spending. After graduating from the radiology program I can go straight to many hospitals and start working rate away. Also, I can apply and most likely get into medical school were I will learn more and in the end make more money in my career. I feel that I will go to medical school to pursue my education as far as possible. This will cost more money yet by that point my family will one hundred percent support me. The annual salary of a radiologist can range anywhere from 200,000 to 500,000 depending on what type of x-rays that the doctor reads. For example, a doctor that looks at a broken leg on x-ray makes a lot less money than a doctor that looks at an MRI scan x-ray. One of my fathers very good friend, Richard Brown, is a radiologist. I decided to give him a call to learn more about the career.
