...speople like them because Atticus is defending Tom. She is disciplined and firm towards the children. Scout describes her as a “tyrannical presence” with a “hand as wide as a bed slat and twice as hard” – we see her use this hand to deliver scout a “stinging smack”. She is very important in this story because it is with her help that Scout and Jem are going to have the courage to support their father! Calpurnia is very nice with every single character of this story, everyone appreciates her. Without her, the story wouldn't have been as interesting! I would love to have her as a freind because che is responsable, strict ans nice at the same time I think it is the ideal! !
