Censorship
...hat kids listen and read they believe it because it is there and it is the “in” thing. If they read a book about some kids killing a teacher because they played a trick on him, and he ends up having a heart attack and dies, then I think that book should not be in the school because of how the world is today (Augusta Chronicle.18 Jun.2001). Kids today should not read about violence, and that’s where censorship of books should come into play. One reason why I disagree with censorship is that sometimes people can take things a little to far. Some books that people are trying to censor and banned are books that have won awards and prestigious honors for there content. I asked myself if these books were considered to be “bad” books then what kind of people do we have that are giving out all these awards. If a book has received that much recognition it must be worthy of being on book shelves. It an association deems it worthy enough to put in schools then what does that say about the association if people are trying to ban the books from schools. I disagree and agree with censorship, so I’m neutral with this issue, and I think that sometimes people are a little too critical when it comes to banning books from a school.
