Casino movie review
...manager of their Tangiers casino in Las Vegas. He is such a good businessman that he turns the Tangiers into a highly efficient operation that the mob is making a lot more money off of. The close to Vegas the mob bosses were allowed to be was Kansas City, and so they send a runner once a week to get them their share of casino's take. Whenever the runner arrives every one turns their head the other way. One of the problems for ace was that you couldn’t manage a casino without a gaming license. So he applies for one and every couple of years he has to apply under a different position so that the gaming commission won’t know of his mob ties. This way they have Phillip Greene (Kevin Pollak) run the show by name but he’s just a puppet and ace is really running the show. When Ace’s friend Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci) come to Vegas it starts to complicate everything from is friendship to the casino and eventually with his wife. Ace likes his legit life that he is now living. Nicky, on the other hand, was a made man in the mafia and moving to Vegas mad him feel right at home with the gamboling the killing and the pay offs. Since Nicky is a made man, and Ace is Jewish, Nicky holds the upper hand with the mob. Eventually Ace meets Ginger Mckenna (Sharon Stone) and this complicates things a lot more. Ginger is a hooker, an alcoholic, and a heavy cocaine user whom Ace falls in love with and marries. Ginger also has a pimp boyfriend, Lester Diamond (James Woods), which she can’t seem to leg go of because she loves him. The movie is narrated by the different characters this way you are able to get all sides of the story.
