As it turned out, Caterpillar told Alice that the mushroom in front of her will allow her to get back to her normal height; but, one side of the mushroom will make her grow while the other side would shrink her. So when Alice began to eat the mushroom, she began to shrink which completely the opposite of what she wanted; therefore, she began to eat the other side. In turn, she started to grow too tall, to the point where it was even more of a crisis. Finally when she did return to her normal height, she felt uncomfortable and once again she shrunk herself. This story portrays Lacanism because of how Alice sees herself and the lack of what she sees. Alice was never satisfied with what she had and once she got what she wanted, she still was not happy.
