Career Exploration Lab Paper
...ust the place where I wanted to stay. At same time, I had decided to major in business because my father wanted me to continue his business in the future (Honestly, I do not really want to), and my friend told me that it was going to be easier and more useful for a international student choosing business as his major. After my first semester as a TWU business student, I realize that I am exactly where I should be. Having taken one business course before this Business 280 class, I realize that this is the path that is going to lead me to my future career. I know that I am going to first have various jobs, occupations, and vocations, but I believe my current course is going to lead me to a career that is suitable for me. Right now, I do not know the focus of my degree, and I hope that this paper is going to help me to discover and figure out what exactly my future has to bring to me, or at least what path I should take here in the School of Business at TWU. I really loved being a businessman. Again, the “Strong Interest Inventory” backs up this interest of mine, saying that I have a high interest in the enterprising theme, where the typical interests here lay in business and economics. Again, on the Basic Interest Scales, I am rated “high” under organizational management. My two-letter theme code is RE (Realistic-Enterprising), and attached career fields that connect both of these themes include computer technology and business. Both of my occupational interests are found here as well. I was completely surprised by the results because I have never believed in this kind of career option test before. Coming to the School of Business of TWU, I knew that I had an interest in business. I knew that I would like to find a career that would make me have a comfortable and successful life. What I did not know, however, was that I could find a career to which I could incorporate not only my interests, but also these values that I hold, such as making decisions, creativity, competition, profit, affiliation, knowledge, creative expression, independence, advance, and working under pressure. Somebody may think I am too greedy, but if I feel satisfied easily, I would never make progress. Back to my two occupational interest choices, The Skill...
