In Orwell’s essay he is a white policeman in a town that is mostly black. Now in the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s you can ask anyone that those were not the popular hangouts for white and black men. King and Orwell share a common ground with each other, they both now what it is like to be put in an area where their race wasn’t from. Having to deal with the stares and things that most people would say to you must not be easy. You are not going to be able to live the same lifestyle as you would in your normal neighborhood. I think the irony of this all is that you are putting everyone around in a situation that they do not want to be in and that is what is going to make everyone mad. Also that is going to happen everywhere if you move into a town where your race is not from and try to life your normal lifestyle you are going to run into a lot of problems. That is what makes these two essays the same is cause both men know what it is like to go through this even know they might not like each other or have the same believes but they both understand what is like to deal with it. Being white in a black neighborhood or being black in a white neighborhood is always going to cause problems. Unless you have some honest people making friends is not going to be easy.
