Sport utilities are very top heavy, meaning they can flip over very easily and also require a bigger distance to stop. Many people believe that since they have four wheel drive they can stop better too, but in reality that is false. Sport utilities are good for transporting people and things in almost any terrain, but they have a very low gas mileage depending on the vehicle make. Vans and Minivans are good for people with family. These vehicles are good for transporting people, and are usually driven by soccer moms and dads, this type of vehicle I would not recommend for a college graduate. Trucks are great for towing. They are for people that require a lot of power to move and transport heavy equipment and trailers. Although their gas mileage is about the same as a sport utility, most new models have gotten better ratings. There are some new vehicle trends that are coming into the market too. Hybrid vehicles are one trend that will be growing at an increasing pace. Hybrid vehicles are cars and sport utilities that use electric and gasoline engines. They have far better gas mileage and are much cheaper to run than conventional cars on the roads today. Within a few years most cars on the road will be hybrids. Hydrogen is another form of energy for cars, there are already a few cars that run on hydrogen and their only waste product is pure water. With these new technological trends in automobiles, the environment will be in much better shape. Warranties are another important thing to look at when purchasing a new car.
