This spending is extremely important fight to keep up America's high standards of living. Next on President Bush's budget are Health and Human Services. This part of the budget deals with the spending on Medicare/Medicade and health insurance for all Americans. One of the best parts of this section of the budget is the $1 billion dollars in aid to Native Americans who and desperately in need of this money due to their high suicide rates, as well as poor living conditions. The $100 billion towards the War against drugs, while very high, is a necessity. Drugs are one of the biggest domestic problems this country has, and drug money often supports terrorist groups, which causes even more problems for the US. America's prosperity depends on it's overall health and living standards to survive. Education is another top concern in the budget, $60 billion has been allocated for this department and it will get put to good use. The rasing of teacher standards and salaries are both extremely important, and this budget provides both. However, this budget gives too much money to technology education. I believe that only $8 billion should be given to technology education, and the other $12 billion be added to the $29 billion already being given to the states to raise school standards. Educating America's youth is a top priority throughout the country, and this needs to remain the case for all time. America needs allies and needs to support it's allies especially during a time where America is on the brink of war. As previously stated I wanted to move another $7 billion into the department of Foreign Affairs, this is because I felt that was too much money for Afghanistan alone, but not too much for Turkey and Jordan to split. Afghanistan will now receive $3 billion, and Jordan and Turkey will each receive $3.5 billion. This money will be used to re-establish democracies in these nations, while also helping to support their militaries and their respective citizens. However, since these countries are receiving such an increase that $20 million stated by the budget to be for the above countries economy will instead be added to the money being given to Middle Eastern Television Companies. Africa is the other focus in foreign affairs, due to their AIDS and HIV epidemic. The $4 billion being given to help find a cure, aid African hospitals, and the promotion of safe sex in Africa. The final $7.5 billion in the Foreign Affairs budget is for education throughout the world, because it is the US's job to try and help those less fortunate, who may not have had the ability to even go to school as a child.
