Nike uses famous sporting people to promote their products and these range from famous multi-million earning football players such as Francesco Totti and Claudio Lopez, top Golfing star Tiger Woods to stars that are unheard of that are involved in extreme sports such as snowboarding. They are currently using most of the world’s best footballers and basketball players to promote their products by having them all performing amazing skillful tricks with the ball. The Nike image is portrayed as being a smart, cool and respectable sporting image that the world’s best and most famous sporting stars want to wear. The freestyle image is to expand on the range of sporting wear that Nike has to offer and this image will soon start to appeal to a wider range of consumers for example the worlds pro snowboarders etc. Over the years Nike have completely changed the image that sports stars and general sporting people have had, they have set upon making everyone to look like a professional. The current main focus for Nike is the football and basketball image, this is due to the extreme popularity of the sports, football in Europe and basketball in America.
