...for people firstly. The Egyptians would need the water to drink and therefore needed the Nile quite close to their homes. Then The Nile was used for animals and their needs. The animals would be given water to drink, food to eat, then would be slain and eaten. Thirdly the crops needed the water. The Nile was a very important source for the crops as they needed the water to grow. Secondly, The Nile provided the Crops with water. Every so often the river would flood providing good soil for growing crops a vital feature in the life of the Egyptian people was the river's behavior, since a good harvest followed a good flood, and a poor flood often meant a later food shortage. Thirdly, Animals came to the Nile to drink and to feed. This means they were easily hunted and provided food for the pharaoh and slaves. The slaves needed food to work in the harsh conditions however they didn’t get much of a feed. Fourthly, it was their main source of transport and was used to carry large objects for example, large stone blocks used in monuments and the great pyramids.
