...n. Leon is asked questions ¡°to provoke an emotional response.¡± He is asked if he would help a tortoise on its back. Then as the tester asks about Leon¡¯s mother, Leon gets up and shoots the tester. This opening scene is important because it gives the audience a view of what these replicants are like. This also makes the audience think that these replicants are evil and cold. After Leon¡¯s scene we see Deckard for the first time in the film. We find him in Chinatown where he is eating his Chinese noodles when two policemen come up to him saying, ¡°your under arrest.¡± Deckard follows the two policemen until he ended up in Captain Bryant¡¯s office. Bryant wanted Deckard to work for him again and hunt down the nexus six replicants. ¡°I need your magic¡± is what Bryant said to Deckard. This gives the audience an idea of how good Deckard was. Captain Bryant gives the details of the robots he needs to hunt down. When Bryant said ¡±Designed to copy every human thing except emotions,¡± Deckard¡¯s response was ¡±Replicants are like any other machines.¡± This shows us the attitude that Deckard had against replicants. This scene is important because it tells viewer how good Deckard is at this job and how he feels about replicants. In the next scene Deckard goes to Tyrell Corporation to meet Tyrell the robot creator. At Tyrell Corp Deckard is asked to test Rachel who is a replicant, by Tyrell because he was curious about the ¡°Voight- Kamff¡± test. After many questions...
