...med in pain. They looked back towards their tales in time to realize they couldn’t see but quickly enough they noticed their tales were gone. Waldo, Heraldo, and Faldo told the farmer’s wife that they learned their lesson and they promised to never cause trouble again. Their promise didn’t last long because not even two hours passed before the three blind mice were downtown picking on the beetle twins, John and Ringo. As soon as the mice left John and Ringo complained to the Gods. The Gods realized that the farmer’s wife didn’t help so they decided to create a great creature to watch over the mice. This creature consisted of the head of an eagle, the wings of a hawk, and the body of a pigeon, and the feet of a chipmunk. The great creature was intimidating but the mice weren’t scared. They decided to eat the great creature so they would be free to terrorize the planet. One night when the great creature was sleeping Faldo, the biggest mouse, swallowed him in one gulp. About five minutes later Faldo started coughing and he coughed out a little pink hummingbird named Nikita. The Gods were furious that the mice would kill the great creature so they said that all-living things would have to suffer and they covered the world with a big black blanket they called night. They decided that they wouldn’t remove it until all three blind mice were dead. Since the mice were young and they knew they would live for years, they tried to convince the little pink hummingbird to fly up through the blanket and beg the Gods for forgiveness. Nikita, who hated darkness, quickly agreed. With all of the animals cheering him on, Nikita flew higher and higher towards the blanket.
