Beowulf Extension
...uld easily slice Beowulf into easily manageable sections. He told the noble king to flee. His fists clenched, he waited for the creature to make the first move. It lunged forward, and thrust his right claws into Beowulf’s stomach. He showed no pain; he backed away from the creature quickly. He stared at its slimy, green and brown body and looked into the beast’s deep, black eyes. The hero threw a punch and hit the beast in the square in the jaw. It didn’t move. It stood there like a solid stone structure; unmoved by a blow that to any mortal man would have been fatal. Once again the beast lunged at Beowulf. It landed upon him and no matter how much the mighty hero struggled he could not free himself. The beast bared its awesome teeth. The blood of souls long since devoured stained these mighty weapons. Beowulf boldly head butted the creature. It cried in pain as the mighty human’s forehead hit its eye. As the beast retreated Beowulf sprang forward grasping it by the throat. It was then that he noticed something in its eyes that had been unable to notice before. There was pain visible in his eyes. A secret pain held deep within, shrouded by mystery...
