Banned cell phones while driving

...ed every year in traffic crashes, and over 600,000 are injured. Young drivers experience fatal accidents at over two times the rate of the rest of the drivers out there. Is it really the drivers age or maturity that causes these accidents, or is it the experience needed to acquire good driving skills? So some people say that increasing the driving age to 18 would reduce the amount of accidents caused by 16-year-olds. I think they are wrong. All that would do is make the accident rate increase at age eighteen instead of sixteen. According to the Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA), drivers show a greater decrease in accident rates between the ages of 20 through 24. This means that it takes a while to become a smart, experienced driver. Raising the driving age to 18 would just put more inexperienced drivers out their on the roads. For an 18-year-old to get his/her license they do not have to sit through the 30 hours of driver’s education classes, and the 6-8 hours behind the wheel driving. This puts these uneducated, older drivers on the road with less experience, and the ability to operate a vehicle responsibly than that of a 16-year-old. Another problem I have with increasing the driving age to 18 is that, 18-year-olds do not have the same restrictions that a 16-year-old has when trying to become a good driver. 18-year-olds are more independent and do not have the restrictions that parents would put on their 16-year-old child, such as, being out to late, driving in bad conditions, and partying. The older drivers would also lack the skills that they could learn by driving with their parents.
