Bang, Bang, He’s Dead!

...cter played by Clint Eastwood, William Money. William Money believed that he killed people because that was what he was born to do. He wasn’t a sheriff or a lawman he was just somebody who believed he knew what was wrong and had the power to regulate on the actions he witnessed. William knew in the 1800’s that “When you kill a man you take away all he’s got and all he’s going to have,” but do we know that today? Do we really understand what it means to go to war, to shoot a man and kill him on the hot desert sand? I believe that today in 2003 we do not know what it means to take a life. Before us there were people like William Money but before him were people like Sisyphus. Sisyphus was a mythical character told by the roman storyteller Homer. Sisyphus was punished by the gods to be constantly pushing a bolder up a mountain, having it roll back down, and then pushing it back up over and over again. He lives this way excepting his fate to always fail for the rest of eternity. I think that if we lived today with the moral that it’s okay to fail and that we don’t always have to be the best and most powerful then we won’t go through holocausts, space races and cold wars which are resulting in deaths of many countries soldiers who probably don’t want t fight in the first place. I think the United States and other countries actions would change drastically. Most American citizens wouldn’t worry about what part of the city they live in or what’s the safest was to have there kid ride there bike to school.
