...the first priority for a student, especially for a student who has asthma. Since then, I focused on academic courses and began to hate sports. However, a decision by my parents changed my life. In 1993, they decided to immigrate to Canada, a country where sports is a form of entertainment and pastime. In Canada, I participated in my first PE class. That day, my third grade teacher led the class to the gym. While I was following the class to the gym, I saw smiles and excitement on everyone¡¯s face. ¡°What do you think we are going to play today?¡± asked the kid in front of me, who was at least four inches taller than me. ¡°I hope it¡¯s basketball!¡± said a smaller kid. Everyone agreed and the anticipation was even stronger. I did not understand why they had so much enthusiasm for PE class; it was almost like they came to school just for PE. In the gym, everyone went into his or her own group of friends and spread throughout the whole gym. The teacher went into the equipment room to pick out the equipment for the activity she planned; however, I had no intension of participating in any activity. I hated sports and I would not participate. As the teacher brought out trolleys of basketball, everyone ran towards the basketball like a bunch of animals in a stampede. The kid who was four inches taller than me got there the fastest, but as he tried to walk away from the basketballs, the crowd behind him was blocking his way. He pushed three or four classmates out of the way and made his way out of the human jungle.
