This was the genocide of six million humans committed in the name of creating a “pure race”. Auschwitz was one of Adolph Hitler’s many concontreatin/prision camps. The camp was dived into three major sections. Auschwitz I the primary camp. The second camp Bikenau (Auschwitz II) was established October 8th 1941 its purpose was to be used as an extermation camp. The third Auschwitz III (Monowitz) was created on May 31st 1942; this camp was made to be a labor camp. There were also many sub camps that were built along with these.
