...cension is taking government and politics to the apex, the next level. Our party takes pride that we are on a higher level of government, hence why we have adopted the Giraffe as our official symbol and use the design on publications widely. The giraffe is on a level with no other walking animal. It is necessary that we make available effective alternatives to society’s present examples of violent behavior. We will work to demilitarize, and abolish weapons of mass destruction, without being naive about the intentions of foreign governments. We acknowledge the need for self-defense and the defense of others who are in powerless conditions. We sponsor non-violent approaches to oppose practices with which we disagree, and will direct our actions toward permanent personal, community and global peace. Ascension is persistent with keeping abortion as “pro-choice.” As essential to American freedom as our right to think, vote, worship, work and marry, is our right to privacy. This very basic and necessary right includes having access to safe and legal abortion, effective contraceptive options, and quality reproductive health care. But unlike the other rights we expect as Americans, this is not one we can take for granted. Ascension, by no means, is supportive of legalizing marijuana without stipulations.
