about last night
...et the basis for their knowing each other was physical attraction. In our text, Looking in/Looking out, attraction is defined as a way we establish personal relationships. Although physical attraction was the obvious attraction there was other forms of attraction as well. They both liked each other reciprocally. In our text it states we usually like people who like us. Both Debbie and Danny seemed to be living very similar lives. Each of them would reinforce ones attractiveness by complementing each other. Proximity also played a big role in Danny and Debbie's relationship. They first caught each other's eye while at a rival companies softball game. They also would attend the same bar, where they first hit it off. I think it was evident from the beginning that they both enjoyed each other's company. Both being in a stage of their life where they wanted something more that just some one night stands but just hadn't found that one to love yet. However Dan could not disclose too much to Bernie about his true feelings because he didn't want to seem like he was soft or less of a man. This is the case in a lot of relationships with men to other men. Bonding for them would be more of going to a bar and slamming a few drinks instead of talking over things. I think ultimately sex was the basis of intimacy shown by each party but for different reasons. Debbie was having sex because she had already developed a level of intimacy and that was her way of showing it. However, to Danny having sex was his way of creating intimacy. As the two started ...
