Annabelle's Christmas
... the “good” kids presents, there comes a time when kids learn that Santa is only a spirit; a story told them by the same parents that actually provided the gifts. The naiveté of a child who believes this myth is also accompanied by the delight that believing in the myth brings. At some time, each child comes to the reality that there is no Santa Clause, there is only the love of the parents who were perpetuating the myth in order to increase the quality of their child’s young life. To find the myth shattered is like bursting the bubble, yet, to replace it with the understanding of the motivation is a comfort and there is joy in learning that something was done only to make one’s life better. Disillusionment is the acceptance of truth and the understanding or reality. To be disillusioned, one becomes disappointed when his or her opinion or belief is found out to be false. Usually an act forces them to realize the truth when they probably would rather continue in their own beliefs. Santa Clause, for instance, is precisely an illusion. As great and magical it is for a child to believe. The role of the barn animals, as I watched this movie I understand that it was probably hard for me to identify with the characters, because I am an adult. However, for a child it was something to identify with like when Santa gave the animals that magic dust and then began to speak. Children can Identify with that because they have been program because of so many other books that things like that really does happen. Then when Annabelle began to speak after the owl told her not to speak in front of humans, and she did anyway. Child can also I identify with because they also telling things there not suppose to because nothing is a secret to a child. I think that a child should tell secret. Annabelle was so innocent that many child could identify her as a role model because she gave bill her Christmas gift of speech because she did not want bill to leave her or grandpa. That is what made Annabelle so gracious in the movie and children can understand that because they are in many ways giving like that. If my child ask me would that be something that could really happen I would tell him or her that not that cows can not talk but they are but one you can strive to be Annabelle not by her ability to want to fly but to be as gracious as her. Not to be selfish but to be giving. I like this movie even though it gave false impression to kids. It also taught them not to selfish, that there are things you want but something if and when you sacrifice great thing can come about to some one else. On the other hand, if you sacrifice one day you can be blessed with the gift you wanted. The main character Bill I felt...
