Napoleon uses misinformation to make the outside world think that Animal Farm is doing good without a human leader to try to get other farms to rebel against their human leaders, “Napoleon ordered the almost empty bins in the store-shed to be filled nearly to the brim with sand, which was then covered up with what remained of the grain and meal...,Mr Whymper continued to report to the outside world that there was no food shortage on Animal Farm” (pg50). The most successful form of propaganda used on the animals is definitely the method of misinformation or double talk. The main reason why this method is successful is because Squealer uses the animals stupidity and short memory span against themselves. The animals stupidity is what makes them weak, their stupidity can be shown through Boxer’s encounter with the alphabet , “Boxer could not get beyond the letter D..., he did learn E, F, G, H, but by the time he knew them it was discovered that h had forgotten A, B, C, and D” (pg 21) .
