In this story, the grandmother was really helping her grandson. She showed her love for him by traveling the long difficult trip by herself, on foot, to get his medicine. This was a real show of love. In the story, “And Sarah Laughed”, it appeared that there was lot of love and support in the family. The story talked about Matthew, Abel’s dad attempting to sign with Abel. Abel’s new bride, Janice, had showed love and support to Abel by helping him learn to communicate with sign language. Janice wanted to teach the other family members how to communicate with sign language. Finally at the end, Sarah showed her love when she decided to learn sign language so.
