Jonathan Kozol clearly showed the meaning of poverty in an ugly but reality stricken way through his deep words of Amazing Grace. It is unfortunate that somewhere on this green Earth, families, parents, aunts, uncles but most importantly children have to face the imperfections of this world. Everyday, from sun up to sun down children as young as one, two or three were confronted with drugs, alcohol and violence even if they were too young to understand. In a perfect world its obvious that none of these children would be exposed to such disgusting things, but the world we all live in is not anywhere near perfect. Jonathan Kozol took it upon himself to live in a town of poverty, experience what families have to deal with everyday and talk to these families to help him get a better understanding of what they have to go through each and everyday.
