...f the dances, props were used and in some there were none used. The use of the costumes brought you into the time of the music and the type of music they used. It helped you understand what they wore and the time those clothes were worn. One work that stands out to me that shows a lot of strong movement was The Quintet. This work showed strong, bold moves. This piece didn’t have long lines or slow movements. It had short, fast movements that brought the strong feeling out and showed the mood very well. The use of the women and their reactions brought out a lot of things I liked. I enjoyed how emotional they were when they danced. I didn’t like the moves they did though. I thought some where too dramatic. But the bright dresses and then into the light plain dresses set the mood very well. Personally I did not like the Alvin Ailey Dance because I didn’t find anything good about it, in my opinion. I don’t really like the whole emotional dancing and expression...
