...ar movie the characters were all mostly young, same as how it was in the exact war. This war also had a high number if not mostly all drafted young men who were put there with no choice. This made it difficult because of their lack of training skill and not to mention their ongoing childish ages as the war continued on. Now a day’s war is taken a little bit differently. Now most armies are recruiting at the age of eighteen at their own will to serve for their country. This is a much better decision for the soldiers out there because they are choosing this to be their dedication if time of war were to come. It is also a more prepared time for soldiers because of there preparation for different scenarios that lead to the comfort of them knowing what needs to be done and how to deal with it properly. During the war in the movie there was a lack of many things including supplies, food, and soldiers. Supplies back then were scarce and nothing can compare to the supplies and technology that are being used in this day of age. Back then there was no way of getting supplies to troops or food for them and on the home front. It was basically hunting, saving food by eating small proportions, or not eating at all. It was a perfect example in the movie how a couple of the German soldiers had food and shared it with a few a French women who were without food for an exchange of some company.
