One idea I left with was that regardless of how bad he was and how badly he struck out he still had a naturally longing for a role model and someone to count on. This shows the need for a parental figure: his mother, mother’s boyfriend, father and mentor. Though the reasons he may have looked up to each are not the same, nor what should be ideally be the reasons, he still did look up to them.
