All About the Expo

I.R.A.E Convention and Trade Expo was launched on Saturday April 5, 2003 at Northern Caribbean University (NCU), Mandeville, Manchester and was terminated on Tuesday April 8, 2003. As expected, companies from all over the country took part in this venture. Various departments of NCU also contributed to the expo. Companies that had exhibition booths include: Alumina Partners of Jamaica (Alpart), Guardian Asset Management, Vic Daniel’s Garment & Uniform Centre, Technology Innovation Centre, Manchester Community Development Foundation Ltd., Grace Kennedy, & Co. Ltd, Optimal Computer Systems, The Music Department of Northern Caribbean University, and many more. Each company and department had something to offer. For example, Grace, Kennedy & Co., Ltd. gave samples of their products and shared some of their famous “homemade cooking” recipes. Alpart also distributed pamphlets with information about their company and calendars. The departments of Northern Caribbean University had different booths in the effort to inform the public about the programs of study that they offered. For instance, the Music Department had a flier containing all the programs they offered and the choirs and bands that students can be apart of. Jamaica’s Export and Investment Promotion Agency (JAMPRO) gave out pamphlets that spoke on their trade and investment facilitation services. They also included information on the incentives available to the different industries in the island which also included the Hotel Incentive Act and the Resort Cottages Act.
