...e him blind (Detailed 1). He would later recover right be for going off to college at the prestigious Oxford University, where he graduated with honors. In 1919 he married a Belgian woman named Maria Nys and they had a child the very following year, they named him Michael. It was around this time that Aldous Huxley published his first book, a collection of poems. And that is when the wonderful career of Aldous Huxley started. Aldous Huxley has written a lot of books in his career and most of them were best sellers. But before he could write a book he had to be inspired or influenced by something that made him want to write. And these are some of his influences. His family was most likely on of his biggest influences, there were all very articulate and some were well known writers. It is said that if you compare some of Aldous’ work with his family’s there styles are very similar, which shows that they were a big influence on his life. Another huge influence was the country of England. This is where Aldous got his idea for the perfect “Utopia” he speaks of in his books. The only thing different from England and his “Utopia” was the class system was stricter in his “Utopia”. His mother’s death also had an impact on his writing. In a Brave New World the Utopians go to great lengths to deny the sadness of death, and to find never-ending happiness. Also living in Fascist Italy was another influence, it gave him ideas for some of his books. He had many other influences as well but those are just the most prominent and noticeable ones. Aldous Huxley is known to have written 47 books and contributed to 5 movies. There is no way that I can name all of those books, most weren’t even popular. From 1921 to 1928 he published four books Chrome Yellow, Antic Hay, Those Barren Leaves and Point Counter Point (which was a best seller). Then in 1932 he wrote A Brave New World, which is considered to be the best book of his career. A Brave New World was the book that made Aldous Huxley a household name. A Brave New World (BNW) is a novel that is a vision of a Utopian future based on science and technology (Brave 1). This was way ahead of its time and some even went as far to say that Aldous was a visionary and that he could see the future. This book truly changed the way that people looked at the world and the future. In 1937 Aldous moved to the U.S. and added screenwriter to his resume. He contributed in 5 movies, some of the more famous ones are Pride and Prejudice in 1940, A Woman’s Vengeance in 1947, and Alice in Wonderland in 1951 (Huxley was never credited for his work in Alice in Wonderland) (Complete 1). Huxley’s last book was a book called Island and he claims that it took him 20 years of thought and 5 years of writing. When you become a writer and you are as well known as Aldous Hu...
