Aids Epidemic
...come to grips with because we have no power over it once it has invaded our bodies. Humans have the tendency to need control. Therefore, the worst thing that could possibly happen to a person would be for them to lose control of their own health. A woman named Kimberly Bergalis born in the late 60’s got AIDS from her dentist when she was 21 years old. This was not in any way her fault. She wrote a letter to the physicians out in the world proclaiming the need for modern doctors to take up to date precautions in their medicine practices as a result of changes in our cultures recent war against AIDS. In this letter she explained to our physicians the different ways she, as well as her family have suffered through her illness. At one point she had white fungus growing all throughout her mouth even on to her lips because of this. To further explain my opinion about people with AIDS I would have to identify with Ms. Bergalis. AIDS violated her body without it being her fault. As in contrast to the prostitute who has sex with multiple men and women who becomes HIV positive because of her decisions. I have so much empathy for the innocent people with AIDS, but feel that the ones who got it like the prostitute deserve it and is just punishment for their wickedness.
