This started from Spain’s Philip II aimed to route all the Protestants in Europe. England then allied with the Netherlands to try and oppose Spain’s powerful navy. Philip then sent his armada of 130 ships, which contained 25,000 soldiers. They were prepared though and fought off the fleet ship by ship. This gave the Protestants an immense sense of victory. This then allowed them to practice their religion freely without any threat from Spain. The German side of the Religious Wars was very important as well.
