Some of his main statements in The Wealth of Nations were reflections on the consequences of economic freedom, self-interest, division of labor, and the function of markets. His major philosophies were revolved around ethics, rhetoric, jurisprudence, and the political economy. One of the greatest effects his works have had on Western Liberal Capitalism especially is the concept of laissez- faire, and free enterprise. He also introduced the laws of supply and demand, and explained the level of wages, profits, rent and prices. One of his most famous quotes, from his book The Wealth of Nations, and is “Every man, as long as he does not violate the laws of justice, is left perfectly free to pursue his own interest his own way.” This quote explains how society has many freedoms and has the chance to become whatever they want to be as long as they understand the laws of their government. There are many freedoms that many people in societies take for granted. In many countries women aren’t allowed to go to school or hold jobs, for example in Afghanistan where under the rule of the Taliban they had to dress a certain way and they had to sneak there children into private schools.
