a wife for king puffin
...talk at the same time. A young peasant girl with a simple face, a simple tunic and a heart of gold wanted so badly to be married and saw these lines of women and thought that she had no chance and so she walked on to buy herbs for her ailing father. While she was in the market she was approached by a poor gang of orphan boys with droopy eyes and tiny little feet. They reached out their tiny hands for food. Mable, the young peasant girl knew that she could not pass them by and so she gave them her only money and in doing so she gave up her dinner. Watching her were two kingdom fairies who worked for the kind King Puffin. They had silver hair, chubby little cheeks and wings that sparkled and rang every time they flew. Their names were Zelma and Zoey. The two were sent out by Hans to find a woman fit to be the king’s wife. They knew that Mable was the one. They were worried though because they knew that they could not send her to the palace in a peasants clothing. The king was in distress as a purple haze set over the serene hills. The sun did not seem as bright as usual and the moon seemed dim as well. He knew that this meant that peach was sad and he so desperately wanted his only love to be happy. He once again summoned Hans. Hans ran to the tubby old king’s side and bowed his head on the purple cloak that enveloped the noble king. “Yes your majesty?” he said, “Hans please tell me that Zelma and Zoey have been successful in the ventures.” Hans truly hade not talked to Zelma and Zoey but he knew that he could not let poor King Puffin stay in this horrible state of mind, or ells the sun would not shine bright again and so he replied, “sir you have nothing to worry about.” The king was overjoyed and decided that he would throw a feast that night in honor of his new wife. Hans was very worried; he called in Zelma and Zoey strumming on his magical harp. Ring, ring came the two fairies in a cloud of sparkles. “Zelma and Zoey please tell me that you have found a young maiden to be introduced to the king tonight at the feast!” pleaded a very nervous Hans, “Tonight are you crazy Hans we are magical but we can not control all things, we still have to meet this girl.” The two fairies remembered the young peasant girl at once and set off to make her a queen by the feast. Mable was feeling quite troubled by her father’s sickness and knew that magic was the only way to heal him, she felt hopeless. Mable brushed back her golden hair and dabbed the tears from her crystal blue eyes and said aloud, “I am going to be married, and I am going to help my father.” She stood up tall and gave her father his medicinal herbs. She patted his little head as she was walking out she heard a peculiar noise. She further walked into the room where she saw the two fairies. The fairies said in unison, “you have been chosen to be the wife of the king.” Mable was overjoyed but she then realized something and her smile quickly faded into a frown. The fairies were bewildered by this response. “What is your worry sweetie?” asked Zoey. “It is my father he is very sick and if I leave him he will surely die.” sobbed Mable. The tow fairies felt deep sadness for Mable because they were only able to give here one wish. Mable was told this but she still picked to save her fathers life. Zelma looked out the window and could tell that there was not much time. They could not provide Mable with...
