This is mostly because he is dominant and a father like figure to Rodolpho. Rodolpho always listens to what Marco has to say to him. This may also be because Marco has a family back in Sicily meaning he is married. Eddie may also see Rodolpho as a homosexual and not Marco because of the way Marco talks. He speaks in a formal register, but uses short sentences. An example of this is when Eddie asks him ‘No trouble gettin’ here?’ Marco simply replies ‘No the man brought us. Very nice man.’ Marco does not see any reason for conversation with Eddie. This is similar to the way that Eddie talks with short sentences, except Marco cannot speak very good English.
