A Separate Peice Finny and Genes Personalities
...summer, than the winter. He truly believes the world should stop fighting and make peace. Gene on the other hand is totally different than Finny. He is very smart academic wise, and likes to have fun, but is not a leader; instead he’s a follower. He takes things seriously and doesn’t speak for himself, instead he lets others speak for him. He wants to be like other people who have a higher rank than him, but he knows he can’t, so he gets depressed. He likes to do more in the winter, than the summer. He truly believes in war and wants the United States to keep on Holmes 2 fighting and win the war. Finny and Gene help each other out in many different situations through out the novel. Their personalities were so different that, it was like there was a connection between them that kept them going. Finny influenced Gene by showing him that he was part of him and that he can be a leader. He showed him that he is not horrible in everything he does, and that he just needs to let go of all his fears. Gene felt as if he was a part of Finny, and that he needed to stay with him, instead of going to war. Being a part of Finny made Gene more confident, and brave, and the way he reflected on others.
