A problem that is haunting for thwe rest of my life
... at a hospital. He gave me two notes: one was for type of tests that needed to done at the hospital, and the other was for my football coach and trainer stating that “Michael Cihlar will not be able to play football or participate in any strenuous activity until further notice”. In addition to this I couldn’t do anything that would result in my leg being harmed until the tests results where in. I had didn’t know what to think at this point. I just thought I was going in the doctor’s office for a sore knee. When I left, I was terrified even the doctor didn’t know what was wrong. When my mom and I left the doctors we went straight the hospital for the first test. After waiting about an hour and a half the nurse called me in. I handed her my note from the doctor and she said, “you will be getting two tests done today” The first test I needed done was a CAT SCAN and the second was a Bone Scan. After the tests were done the nurse said the results would be sent to my doctor and he would contact me. After a few days of waiting, I was contacted by my doctor and said he wanted to see my family and I to come to his office as soon as possible. Within a half in hour we where there. In his office there were two doctors that I had never seen and this scared me. My Cat Scan pictures were on display. I could remember never being so scared in my life but never showed any emotion towards the situation. I then was told that I had to two more tests done. One was a blood test the other was an M.R.I. On the way to the hospital my parents didn’t say much but the look on there face let me know what they were thinking. When we got to the lobby we had to wait for about a half a hour. When we were called I noticed the nurse was the same nurse that did my first testing with. That was a comfort knowing she knew me. After the tests I was told the same line as before “ They would send the results to my doctor and he would call me”. After a few days I contacted the doctor called and he said he wanted to see you and your family. Once again we went to his office and waited until he called us. He came and brought us back to his office after about thirty minutes of waiting. After closing the door behind him he said to sit down. The doctor said “The news I have to tell you is good and bad”. I told him I wanted the good first. He said I wouldn’t need a Bone Graft. The bad news is the condition will effect you for the rest of your life. He then said he was sorry and my family and I left the building. Internally I remember thinking the problem was solved and the sacrif...
