A Dream to Reality

...al flowers. Immediately, after my most gracious welcome, a shiny, black Limousine parked right in front of us. Stepping out of it was a chauffeur nicely dressed in a richly appointed tuxedo that had the initials, R.H. printed on his front right pocket. He greeted us with a friendly smile and questioned us if we were the Fayy family. I immediately jumped up with exhilaration and happily replied with a yes. He then approached the Limousine door, opened it slowly, and said, “I will take you guys to the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, which is located on the famous Waikiki Beach in the shadow of the World-renowned landmark, Diamond Head.” From that moment on, I was confident that this vacation was going to be a special one. During the first day of our thrilling trip, my parents and I boarded a tour bus. From there we enjoyed a multitude of wondrous sights of Honolulu. Our tour consisted of the King Kameamea’s Castle, Pearl Harbor, and the Memorial to the U.S.S. Arizona, which sunk on the first day of World War Two. Knowing that there are still 1,240 U.S. sailors entombed in the U.S.S. Arizona, it was an extremely heart-wrenching sight. The next portion of our amazing adventures were based on the Norwegian Ocean Liner, Pacific Princess. Our first port of call was the city of Lahina Roads, which is located on the island of Maui. When our tour guide said proudly, “At one time in history, Lahina Roads was one of the largest whaling stations in the world,” it made me feel extremely lucky to be at such a historical place.
