... he goes off to school leaving his family behind in hopes that he may help third children just like him. This really is a captivating book, interesting while making you think. I recommend this book because it is very engrossing. It keeps you entertained and never gets boring. There is always something new about to happen so you never want to put the book down. For example, when Luke almost looses all hope and starts to believe that maybe he is the only third child around, he spots another third child in the window across the field in a house that he knows no one would be home at that time of the day. Another reason you should read Among the Hidden is because it is a very well written book. The way the author describes things creates a picture of the object or place in your head and makes you feel like you’re actually there. Like when it says, “ He took one extra breath of fresh air, scented with clover and honeysuckle and---coming from far away---pine smoke,” you can almost smell the scented air as it refreshes your lungs.
