They secretly fall in love, but they know that if their relationship is discovered by the Thought Police, they will both be killed. But they find a play above a shop, and they think it is safe because it shows no possession of a telescreen. But unaware of the fact that the owner is a member of the Thought Police which is later revealed in the novel, they temporarily use this place to meet with each other. Both Winston and Julia exhibit bravery to go against the Party to be with each other. Winston also can be portrayed as a positive role model because he shows commitment.
