When Kat is with Patrick at the party and Kat gets drunk and a possible concussion Kat takes her outside. The Swing Scene, this is when Kat first realises that Pat actually cares about her and is not as bad as his reputation would tell you. After Pat refuses to kiss Kat as she was drunk and taking advantage of her and he is still only dating her for the money. Kat is angry that he wouldn’t kiss her. Eventually all is forgiven and we notice that Kat cares for Patrick, but not as much as she is letting on to him. Kat is no longer someone who would never date anyone from school. Pat is paid to take her to the school prom but he tries to reject the money but instead his greed takes over and he accepts the higher offer. Now we also realise Pat cares for Kat also. Kat is eventually guilted into going to prom after she tells Kat she went out with Joey and wants to make it up Bianca because Bianca is so upset that Kat is holding her back and making her life miserable because Kat made stupid mistake when she was young and thought she was protecting bianca Both go to the prom together and Kat finds out that Pat was payed to take her out, this is only a minor hiccup in the relationship as we know That Kat really cares for Pat and has grown to love him.
