Or you can read the minds of the students around you taking the same test. Granted, there are some arguments to using telepathy academically. I am not saying do not study and rely totally on what everyone else knows. A lot of people do poorly on tests and it would not be wise to fully depend on them for the right answers. You would never be any more intelligent and you would only know what others around you know. You would miss out on literature pieces, articles, and even information on the internet. It would just make things easier to have a little “help” here and there. Another argument, is using telepathy cheating? I think it would be considered immoral if you purposefully read someone’s thoughts during a test. If they just came to you from such a strong connection with the person, it would not be your fault. Telepathy could also definitely help with your social life. You would be better off with friends, family, and a significant other. With friends, you could tell what people really think of you, which of your traits turn people off or annoy them, and most importantly you could see through people’s “fakeness.” You will only see the person from the inside and you will know if they are truly genuine. With family, you can always know how to please your parents or children. There will be no more wondering about gift giving. If you had telepathy, there would be no more stress involved in dating. You could tell if a love interest likes you as more than a friend or if a person is being loyal or not. Apparently, telepathy is the strongest between friends and family. “Most often, telepathy occurs spontaneously in incidents of crisis where a relative or friend has been injured or killed in an accident” (Hefner). Like with school, there are arguments to the validity of telepathy helping a person with their social life. Someone might say that because you know, you act like what people you want you to be, so you never have true friends. People will be friends with others who like them for who they are. A person can only be fake for so long, their real personality will always shine through. The other drawback to telepathy is that you might pick up on the negative things people think about you. You just have to understand that no one is perfect and people will always find flaws in others. This might, however, make you want to become a better person. Telepathy would certainly be in a person’s favor financially. First off, getting a job would be a whole lot easier. You could be more relaxed in an interview because you know what the person is going to ask and you will already know if you have what they are looking for or not....
