Garibaldi, a True Italian Hero
Giuseppe Garibaldi was an Italian patriot that contributed to Italian unification. Many people, such as historian Michael Broers, believe that Garibaldi was a popular patriot. However, some believe that Garibaldi was not as popular as Cavour. There continues to be much debate about this topic when examining their contributions to Italian unification. Garibaldi was a popular patriot but he was not able to maintain his popularity.
